Indoor Modified Rules



REFEREE: MODIFIED RULES SUMMARY


ALL GAMES

  • If ball contacts the ceiling, opponents restart with an IFK below the contact… (But not in the PA, bring it out).
  • Halfway into game, stop clock for 1 minute break, Unless BOTH teams agree before game start to play without stopping (NOTE: if games are behind schedule you MUST inform both teams before game start that there will not be a middle break).
  •  Referee keeps time on watch, time on score boards is not used. Give teams a one minute warning that the time will start in one minute. Let teams know periodically how much time is left.    Politely respond to coaches when they ask… they need to know.  Only add a few seconds to finish a play, if needed.
  •  Yellow cards MUST be recorded, and reported to the field marshall desk before you leave, If some players with the same number, get a name.



7 V 7 (1/3 field games, single ref) –
40 minutes Running clock (break at 20 unless teams pre-agree to not break)

  • NO Sliding near an opponent (except for keeper in the area).  If near an opponent, then treat as dangerous play (IFK). If Careless, then treat the same as a foul outdoor (i.e DFK). Yellow for the DFK foul version, is at your discretion.
  • NO OFFSIDE. NO OFFSIDE. NO OFFSIDE.  On the small field games.
  •  On Free kicks, distance to respect, is 8 yards  (same as small sided games outdoors)
  •  Goal kicks are on the white line a couple yards in front of the goal. PKs will be taken from the top of the Penalty Area line. (about 10 yards), due to the smaller goals.
  •  Subs are on the fly.  SLAUGHTER RULE: When score differential of at least 5, then losing team …can add a player, if they want.
  •  NO keeper punting or dropkick (on first occurrence if not goal scoring opportunity, play on, loudly warn both keepers NO MORE PUNTING).



9 V 9 (1/2 field games, 2-man) –
40 minutes Running clock (break at 20 unless teams pre-agree to not break)

  • NO Sliding near an opponent (except for keeper in the area).  If near an opponent, then treat as dangerous play (IFK). If Careless, then treat the same as a foul outdoor, (i.e DFK). Yellow for the DFK foul version if harsh contact, is at your discretion.
  • YES OFFSIDE. But, only past the line that defines the top of the penalty area. (and.. extended from touchline to touchline). You judge.
  •  On Free kicks, distance to respect, is 8 yards (same as small sided games outdoors),
  •  Goal kicks are on the white line a couple yards in front of the goal. PKs will be taken 12 yards out, when using the full size goal.
  •  Subs are on the fly. SLAUGHTER RULE: When score differential of at least 5, losing team …can add a player… if they want.
  •  NO keeper punting or dropkick (on first occurrence if not goal scoring opportunity, play on, you MUST loudly warn both keepers NO MORE PUNTING).



11 V 11 (full field, 2-man) –
50 minutes Running clock (break at 25 unless teams pre-agree to not break)

  • Play is intended to be as close to outside as possible.
  • Safe and proper slide tackling, IS allowed.
  •  YES OFFSIDE (no variations), same as outdoor,
  •  On Free kicks distance to respect is 10yrds.
  •  Subs are on the fly.  No slaughter rule…. 11v11.
  •  Keeper can punt and drop kick.
