SO YOU WANT TO BE A REFEREE?

WUSA provides center referees for all recreational games U8 through High School. Assistant Referees are provided for the U14 and High School games. Assistant Referees may be assigned to U12 recreational games if available. For the Travel program WUSA/Crossfire SC provides Assistant Referees for home games, U12 and up.

NEW REFEREE TRAINING

WUSA will be offering referee training for any new referee. This training will begin with you officiating U8 games alongside a referee mentor/trainer; as well as an AR at the U12 level, alongside a mentor/trainer. You then move to the U10 level working either as a center referee (under a mentor/trainer supervision) or in a two man configuration, partnered with a mentor/trainer.

This training does not certify or recertify you, but is required if you have no referee experience. Training schedule dates will be based on interest. Referees, once completing a season as a trainee referee; will be recommended to attend an Illinois Soccer Referee Committee (ISRC) sponsored certification class to get patched in order to continue officiating WUSA/Crossfire SC matches.

Anyone who is interested should email Joseph Sanders at: [email protected].

Become a Referee

We are looking for Referees!

Woodstock United S.A. utilizes US Soccer Federation (USSF) certified referees for both the recreational and travel soccer programs.

In order to officiate matches one must take the USSF Entry Level (Grade 8) referee course.  Referee courses are offered all around the state of Illinois, with the majority of the clinics being held during the months of January through April.

If you would like to become a referee, please check out both of these sites!

(Note: USSF utilizes "grades" as a classification, and certification level for all its referees; this is what USSF is referring to when they use the term "grade". A person's grade in school has no bearing on soccer officiating.)
