6U Age Group

Location:  ALL Practices/Games are Saturdays, 9:00am - 12:00pm at Northwood Middle School.

Uniform and Equipment:  
A uniform (jersey, shorts, and socks) is provided as part of the program for all players.  Each player should wear their own shin guards. Soccer cleats or tennis shoes should be worn. Each player should also bring their own size 3 soccer ball and a water bottle.

Program: 
This age group is designed to introduce players to the thrill of playing soccer and is coached by our parent volunteer coaches. The sessions last for 1 hour with the first 30 minutes for practice; focusing on fundamental techniques and skills. The final 30 minutes with a scheduled scrimmage game against another team in the age group.

6U Age Group

Location: ALL Practices are 1-2 times a week (coaches discretion) at Northwood Middle School (or other D200 facility). ALL Games are typically played Saturdays, 9:00am - 12:00pm at Northwood Middle School

A uniform (jersey, shorts, and socks) is provided as part of the program for all players.  Each player should wear their own shin guards. Soccer cleats or tennis shoes should be worn.  Each player should also bring their own size 3 soccer ball and a water bottle.

Program/Game Format: 
The games are played in a 5v5 format with a goalkeeper and they play 2 halves of 20 minutes each. The 5v5 format is designed to increase the player’s touches on the ball and provide every player an opportunity to be involved in the game. There is NO offside rule enforced.

12U Age Group

A uniform (jersey, shorts, and socks) is provided as part of the program for all players.  Each player should wear their own shin guards. Soccer cleats or tennis shoes should be worn.  Each player should also bring their own size 4 soccer ball and a water bottle.

Program/Game Format:
The games are played in a 9v9 format with a goalkeeper and they play 2 halves of 30 minutes each. The 9v9 format is designed to increase the player’s touches on the ball and provide every player an opportunity to be involved in the game. The off-side rule is enforced.

High School Age Group


Please note there are away games requiring travel at this age level.

Location:  Practices are 1-2 times a week (coaches discretion) at Northwood Middle School (or other D200 facility). Home games are played at Northwood Middle School or Emricson Park in Woodstock and away games played at other out-of-town  facilities.

Fall Season (Girls): Girls High School rec teams play in the Northern Illinois High School Recreational Soccer League (a.k.a. Blackmore League).  Teams will travel to  play teams in other communities. Teams may also participate in NIHSRSL or other sponsored tournaments and is at the discretion of the team coach and the WUSA Board  of Directors. Some additional costs may be incurred.

Spring Season (Boys): Boys Rec High School Soccer rec teams play in the CLSF Boys High School Soccer League. Teams will travel to Lippold Park in Crystal Lake to play all games. Games.  Teams may also participate in IYSA or other sponsored tournaments and is at the discretion of the team coach and the WUSA Board of Directors. Some additional  costs may be incurred.

Uniform/Equipment:
No uniform is provided as part of the high school program fee. Coaches will coordinate jersey selection for a cost to be determined later. Each player required to wear their own soccer cleats and shin guards. Each player should also bring their own size 5 soccer ball.

Program/Game Format:
The games are played in a 11v11 format with a goalkeeper and they play 2 halves of 35 minutes each. All applicable rules are enforced.
